Dr. Henderson became interested in psychiatry during her medical training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She received her medical degree from The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency training at MSU-Authority Health in Detroit, MI. Dr. Henderson practices general psychiatry. She treats a wide variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, psycho-oncology, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and end of life care.
The treatment plan is tailored to each patient and may encompass non-pharmaceutical and/or psychotropic medication. Non-pharmaceutical treatment options include evidence based psychoeducation, psychotherapy, or a holistic approach. The overall aim of treatment is to create an individualized plan with emphasis on the patient’s well-being to accomplish their goals in a safe environment. In her leisure time Dr. Henderson enjoys quality time with friends and family, riding horses, working with animals, and spending time on the water.
