
Leah received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has years of experience working with children, youth, and families in a variety of clinical settings, including her work overseas in Honduras. She has a compassionate approach toward client difficulties and seeks to instill hope. Leah has worked in school settings, providing assistance and intervention services to students with emotional and cognitive impairments, in addition to non-profit settings. Leah has provided counseling for children with disabilities, such as Autism and Intellectual Disabilities, utilizing an individualized approach to serve their complex needs. Leah has also provided years of counseling services to at risk children and youth in a residential setting struggling with traumatic backgrounds and attachment related issues, and is also fluent in Spanish. She utilizes a strengths-based approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and trauma-informed care, as well as other evidence based therapies to assist her clients in moving towards growth, independence, and healing. She has a history of encouraging and empowering clients toward improved self-esteem and decision-making, as well as assisting them in managing interpersonal difficulties.
