Nurse Practitioner

Kristin Hammoud, APRN, received her master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Emory University in 1998. She provides both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to her clients in a holistic way which can minimize use of medications and while maximizing psychological tools to aid with emotional regulation and self-care. She has worked as an oncology nurse and has experience with cancer and grief issues, community mental health, Veterans Affairs treating complex PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders and private practice. She sees emotional hygiene as a critical tool to teach to children to prevent mental health and physical disorders.

Kristin wrote the book, “What Is Wrong With Me?” as a way to demonstrate how childhood adverse events affect perceptions and ongoing emotional struggles and how using psychological tools of self-regulation can move to self-confidence and empowerment. Kristin uses a compassionate, non-judgmental approach and sees therapy as a partnership to self-understanding and self-care.

I believe there is always hope, even when we are overwhelmed and beaten up by life. I encourage everyone to reach out for help and not suffer in silence.
